CEO Mike Weber

Mike is the big guy on the right back during Just Cause Dec 1989

Mike is a second generation US Air Force aviator (now retired from active duty) with more than 15 years flying experience on the MH-53 Pave Low special operations helicopter in hot and not locations around the world.  He is still associated with special ops in a support role to this day having deployed 8 times to austere combat environments over in southwest Asia since his retirement from active service in uniform.  His history in the special ops community is unique in that he was in AF special ops before there was an Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC.)  Beginning active duty just post Viet Nam (1978 to be exact) as a Weapons Mechanic, he served during the height of the Cold War over in Europe working on A-10’s and preparing for the Communist hoards to invade Europe.  Then he cross-trained in 1984 to become a helicopter Flight Engineer on the Air Force Rescue HH-53 Super Jolly Green Giant.  Post Goldwater-Nichols Act of 1986, his Rescue unit was deactivated and absorbed into what would become AFSOC in 1990.  He has been and is still involved in combat operations on numerous occasions including Operations Urgent Fury, Just Cause, Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Provide Promise, OEF, OIF and others to the present time.

This operational experience, worldwide, brings the company a unique focus to what operators need and expect to perform their vital missions.  Mike leverages his experiences and contacts throughout the special operations community and industry to anticipate, research, source, and provide the finest equipment in several categories such as night vision equipment, personal protective gear, etc.

The motto of JLW and Associates, Inc. sums up his philosophy and the ethos that drove him to form this company in 2013 –

NON EXT BENE DEFECTUM which translates to FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.
